The STAN was designed and built in 2019 by students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University thanks to the cooperation of the Institute of Design II FA ČVUT with the KRNAP Administration. It is located near the confluence of the river Mumlava with the Lubošská stream, on one of the important routes in the Krkonoše National Park. The main motif was a tent, which also provides emergency sleeping and quick comfort on the road. The students worked with the shape of the shelter only as with a roof.

The supporting structure of the shelter is covered with OSB boards, which form the wind and the visible part of the interior. The mantle is made of larch planks. They are feathered on the roof so that the water can drain better. Used larch is durable and ages naturally. The aim was to create a simple shelter, with its shape and material solution it will look natural in the mountains.
